Things I Value

These past few weeks I have been working on a poster showcasing my top items I could not possibly live without. After deep thought, these things were actually really hard to come up with. The assignment said to come up with ten thing we couldn't live without, but after re-evaluation of my top ten I narrowed them down to eight things. I kept asking myself do I really need all of these items or concepts to survive and thrive on my day to day basis?

Now, some of these items seem absurd to you, but to me they pretty much make up my entire life. Yes, I can't live without Sour Patch Kids, Gatorade, or even March Madness. These items are what make my world go round and keep me sane. But Michael, what about your friends and family? Aren't they important to you? Yes, indeed they are important. But some days, scratch that everyday, I like to be isolated; away from everyone and anything just to think. Think about anything that crosses my mind. I don't need much to live or thrive, just my essentials to get by and be happy.

Picture below is of my poster of the top eight things I can't live without. Enjoy.

  1. I agree it was hard to come up with 10 things that matter! I gather you are a sugar addict. It is OK, I lived for Saturdays when my friends and I would walk to the corner drug store and we'd stock up for the week; Jolly Ranchers—the flat stick kind and Hot Tamales. I wasn't really a chocolate addict like I am today. I remeber using the Jolly Rancher to help coax my teeth out when they were loose. Now I know your story behind the sugar won't have that good old days sheen to it but I would like to hear more about you through these items. Your poster looks amazing. There are actually Acouple of things I'd like to do before sending it to print; create some Character Styles that will set your 8 items apart from the rest of the body and eliminate the hyphens. Awesome job Michael, you have a great eye and good aesthetic!

About Me

Hello my name is Michael Zager and I am currently a Freshman at the University of Kansas. I am currently studying Visual Communications. Photography is one of my hobbies that I have picked up over the years. I have always been interested in photography because of my father but never knew the elements, principles, and how to compose a photo until a few years ago. Self taught, I have learned the basics of composition and the photography rules.
